KAMP CEO Dr. Mbugua Njoroge met with Media Council CEO Mr. David Omwoyo and agreed to collaborate in order to raise awareness of the organizations role amongst media stakeholders.
As part of the resolutions, the two organizations agreed to have a MoU that will see KAMP work with MCK to train journalists on neighboring copyright right in efforts to increase compliance with in Kenya.
On his part KAMP Dr. Mbugua Njoroge urged the media council of Kenya to support the organization’s mandate and role. He said it was important that journalists and media are made aware that KAMPs role is to protect the skills and investment of producers against unauthorized use.
Further, The Media Council of Kenya CEO Mr. Omwoyo emphasized that Media has a role to play to enhance and increase awareness among Kenyans on the rights and interests of producers of sound recordings in Kenya.
He added by saying the growth of creative sector relies heavily on the media and ensuring that the creatives who continue to produce quality work should have their rights protected.
